The Japanese garden
(日本庭園, Nihon teien) comes from the ancient Japanese tradition.
In Japan, garden design is an important and respected art, sharing aesthetic codes with calligraphy and wash drawing. The Japanese garden seeks to interpret and idealize nature by limiting artifice. Some of the most well-known gardens in the West and in Japan are “Zen gardens”, composed of gravel or striated sand.
This design takes up the pure and zen spirit of the magnificent Japanese gardens with subtly mixed background colours.
